Agricultural Youth Show

Let the young farmers show off their favourite animals and pets.

Entry fee: R100 per entrant, plus R50 for each additional animal entered by the same person.

About this event

Let the young farmers show off their favourite animals and pets! The Agricultural Youth Show gives young animal enthusiasts the opportunity to bring along their favourite animal or pet and proudly showcase their special companion in a fun and friendly environment. Each participant will create a poster about their animal or pet and have the opportunity to present their animal to the judges on the day.

  • Dog Showing/Agility: Show off your dog's good behaviour, presentation and handling skills or put your teamwork to the test as you tackle a fun agility course of jumps and obstacles!
  • Photography: Take three photos on the day within the allocated time, capturing the animals or the event in creative and interesting ways. Your photos will be submitted for judging.

What will be judged

  • Animal Presentation: The animal or pet's overall appearance, grooming and turnout.
  • Handling Skills: How confidently, calmly and safely the participant handles their animal or pet.
  • Care & Knowledge: The participant's understanding of their animal and how well they demonstrate care for it.
  • Poster Presentation
  • Participation & Enthusiasm

Age categories

  • Little Sprouts: Under 7 years
  • Junior Farmers: 7–11 years
  • Young Farmers: 12–15 years
  • Future Farmers: 16–19 years

Prizes

  • Ribbons and prizes to be won!

Payment and entries

  • Payment can be made by cash or card on the day during registration between 08:00 and 09:00.
  • Please note: If payment is not received on the day, you will not be eligible for any prizes.
  • Entries close 1 October 2026.
